Training Program Early Bird Discount

To receive a Training Program Early Bird Discount you must register before 30 May for the program of your choice. Full Payment must accompany your registration or it will not be processed. No exceptions will be made post the cut-off date.

Family Discount

Receive a %10 discount off the advertised price for the 3rd and so forth program participant. (Short School Holiday programs not included).

Payment Option

Full payments can be made by Money Order, Bank or Personal Cheque, Visa, MasterCard, Amex or Diners Club.

Season Pass

Members of a FULLTIME and SEASONAL training programs (excluding Short School Holiday Programs, Special Programs and individual week or weekend training) are entitled to purchase a Falls Creek season pass at the Early Bird rate.

Season Passes will not be authorised unless Race Club membership registration information and payment details are completed and entered. Information must be received at least 24 hours prior to purchase of seasons pass as your season pass requirements will need to be entered into our system.

Additional Fees

Administration fee:

$55.00 Development and short programs, $75.00 Children, Jnr and Snr non FIS and $100.00 FIS for club office administration.

Squad Fees:

Squad payments are paid to Falls Creek Ski Lifts to provide coaches, hill space, training materials and race operations.

Work Levy One per Family $150.00

This is to ensure everybody assists at races and social events. When all required duties are completed this can be refunded or left in for the subsequent season. Let the office know your choice on your membership renewal. You can get family members, friends or your staff to take your place if unable or unwilling to assist. We pay others to do your duties with the money if you do not provide required assistance.

General Conditions

Falls Creek Ski Lifts reserves the right to alter or amend any programs. Prices, services and conditions are correct at the time of printing but may be subject to change without notice at Falls Creek’s absolute discretion. All training programs are non-transferable, non-refundable and are offered subject to minimum participation levels. Credit for missed sessions or days will not apply. All programs are subject to a minimum number of participants to proceed.

Injury Refund Policy

In the case that Race Club training program athletes are injured during the season and the nature of the injury prevents further participation in the registered program, members may apply for a partial refund of the program fees. Refunds will be by cheque, with the amount calculated from the day after the injury less $35 administration costs upon FCSL sighting a medical certificate. Details of the refund policy are available from the ticket office.

Age Guidelines

Each program caters for a recommended age group and these age categories are guidelines only. If you feel that your child should be in a different age group we will be happy to assess the circumstances on an individual basis.

First Program Day Information

On the first program day, all training programs meet at the Gateway Cafe (first building on the right when entering Falls Creek village) located next to the Race Club office.
As numerous programs start on the same day, the Development Squad and Snowboard programs will commence at 9.00am. All other programs meet at 8.30am. (including Short Programs)
During the season, some program start times will vary due to training schedules. Athletes must stay in contact with their coaches and check the website for updates.
Completed paperwork and payment must be received prior to the first training day.

Essential Information for all Programs

Helmet use is mandatory for all participants during training and racing, and strongly recommended at other times.
All programs are subject to a minimum number of participants to proceed.
Daily start and finish times may vary according to weather and race schedules. Please check with your coach for information & update to any changes.
All programs include on-snow coaching, dryland training, equipment advice, equipment tuning, coaching support at selected races and competitions, unless otherwise stated.

Race/Competition Information

What races can you enter?

SSA (Ski and Snowboard Australia) Events
All athletes who compete in SSA sanctioned events, such as the Victorian Children’s Championships, Australian National Children’s Championships and the Victorian Jnr/ Snr Championships, must hold a valid SSA registration. This can be purchased through the SSA office or website on www.skiingaustralia.org.au. SSA members may also apply for competition insurance.
Licences can also be purchased through your relevant State Associations – www.nswski.com.au and www.snowsportsact.com.au

The SSA membership year begins 1 May through to 30 April in the following year.

(International Ski Federation) Events

Athletes born in 1993 or earlier are eligible to compete in FIS events. A FIS licence is required for anyone who intends to compete in FIS events (alpine, snowboard, mogul disciplines). It is the responsibility of the athlete to purchase the licence and produce a licence number at the event registration. For further information go to www.skiingaustralia.org.au. Please note SSA may impose significant financial penalties for late registrations.

Victorian Interschool’s Grand Prix Series

The Grand Prix Series is designed for all developing teams, and it is a great opportunity for young athletes to test their skills, taste what the competition has to offer and practise for Interschool Competitions. The Grand Prix Series comprises an Alpine GS race, Snowboard GS race and Skier/ Boarder Cross*. Entry is $15 to all participants and we encourage parents to come along to watch.

Entry to Competitions

Race and Event calendars are available on the Ski and Snowboard Australia website at www.skiingaustralia.org.au
Entry to all children’s races, including the Grand Prix Series and the Rossignol Children’s Cup, will be the responsibility of the parents. Please note, event waivers and release forms must be signed by parents or guardians.
To ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children, acceptance of all race registrations is at the discretion of the relevant coach. Please contact your child’s coach for advice and assistance before deciding to enter events.
For athletes participating in away races (Mt Buller, Hotham, Thredbo or Perisher Blue) Falls Creek Ski Lifts will provide coaching support at select events not held at Falls Creek (included within program coaching days). See Training Calendar or you coach for more details. The cost of accommodation and transport for athletes is not included in the program price.

Please note, coaches attending competitions not held at Falls Creek are provided to support and coach the athletes. Falls Creek Ski Lifts is not responsible for the supervision and athlete duty of care outside of normal coaching hours. We suggest that parents accompany their children to competitions or make arrangements for other parents to assume duty of care when travelling to and from competitions and outside the on-snow coaching period. The Falls Creek Race Club office and Falls Creek Ski Lift coaches will assist in coordinating and entering athletes into events. All other arrangements, eg transport and accommodation, are the responsibility of parents.
