Social Activities & Events
A range of social events happen throughout the season - the highlights being the parents and coaches dinner at the start of the season, the annual club auction and the race around the mountain and season end BBQ on the last weekend of the race club calendar.
Master's Alpine Program
Catering for adults ranging from 20 to 70 years old, squad parents and ex-racers who still enjoy running gates, this program aims to improve participants skills while having fun. The program consists of free-skiing, technical training, race training and equipment handling components.
3 or more participants are needed for 2 hours of race training. Club membership and club uniforms are not required for this program. Contact the Falls Creek Snowsports School for more details on 03 5758 1070 or purchase tickets prior to each session in the Snowsports office at the Cloud 9 complex (top of Falls Express Chairlift).
Ladies' Club
Held on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons ladies get together to learn, improve their skiing and enjoy the social atmosphere. All levels of skiing ability from low intermediate upwards are catered for. After the two hour lesson on Wednesdays people are welcome to continue the social side of things by visiting Winterhaven for drinks, nibbles and lots of laughter. Tickets can be purchased at the Snowsports office at the Cloud 9 complex (top of Falls Express Chairlift). Meeting area is just outside the office and classes start at 1.30pm.
Social Calendar
Queens Birthday weekend, Second hand sale kicks off. Saturday, goods accepted from members. Sale open to the public Sunday/Monday from 10am. Continuing during office hours till the end of school holidays.
June 30th
Meet the coaches dinner at Last Hoot from 7pm. Come get familiar with new coaches and members or just catch up with old friends.
July 11th
Annual Auction at Gateway cafe. 6.30 onwards. Ample finger food included with $20 entry price.
July 10th
BBQ on Club balcony following Rossigonl Cup, while we wait for presentations to begin.
September 19th & 20th
Dual slalom race - athletes against parents, coaches, mates - whoever! Event to be held on Ruined Castle from around 10am. A BBQ will be held at the bottom of the race course as well.
End of season dinner to be held at Gateway Cafe & Gallery from 7.00pm onwards. Bookings required payment at the door.
September 20th
End of season around the mountain race - form teams to visit every lift on the mountain and see which team makes it back to the Race Club first. Great fun for all.
